This symbolic piece is assembled from cardboard and water bottles, and embellished with acrylic paint. Ocala has been my home for more years than it has not been. I was born here and came back here after marrying a childhood friend. So many of my life’s memories are tied to this city and the people I have met along the way. Home does not have to be a house, it is wherever you can shine and be yourself, a place with family and/or friends. This house symbolizes the idea of home, but “home” could be a neighborhood, school, workplace, church, or another form of community.
