Statement
My work often re-examines the connection between spirituality, nature, and each person's perception of the divine. I repeatedly beg the question, what is sacred to you? Traditionally the word ‘sacred’ means connected to God, or connected to religion specifically. I reject the practice of organized religion as we know it today, and choose to embody my own beliefs about the universe and the many unknowns of our existence. At the end of the day, we all choose what we want to believe, and the only truth is the one we tell ourselves. I use my imagery and subject matter to provide a glimpse of some of the things I believe to be sacred, which I define as something that brings joy, balance, peace, or beauty.
I primarily use printmaking, specifically lithography and linocut, to create images of birds, animals, and nature from a spiritual lens.
