Statement

Sculpture is the medium that allows me to materialize the ideas that invade my thoughts through

research of the space that surrounds me. In my work, I seek to concretize through shapes a state of
consciousness, emotions, and the essence of the historic experiences of individuals.
These are important stories that invoke a message of overcoming obstacles with a sense of hope and strength and the knowledge that change will happen regardless of how long it takes. Metal is my language and triangles, in different scales, with their sharp lines and flat angles, are the shape that translate my emotions. The welding between angles is of subtle and harmonious transition taking care of the aesthetics. I use the color and texture that project the sensation of movement to the intensify spaces, depth and differentiate lines and planes that represent the amplitude of vital events. The pieces challenge gravity, they master a balance that conveys the experience of sensitivity and harmony. They are risky and daring pieces, strong and delicate that reveal emotions.
When I work in the studio I feel what was, is and will be the happiness, passion, reverence and serenity that are obtained when working with a strong medium like metal.
